Earthworks and road construction
Products for earthworks and road construction are granulated blast furnace slag (GBF), air cooled blast furnace slag (ABS) and LD-GBS products, which have been manufactured by using steel slag and blast furnace slag with certain mixture ratio (LD-GBS 50/50 or LD-GBS 30/70).
Blast furnace slag and air cooled blast furnace slag structures can be built with thinner structure layers because these products have good thermal insulation and load bearing capacity. The loading capacity of blast furnace structures increases over time as a result of binding. Other technical features will not change.
As a result of the technical characteristics of blast furnace slag and air cooled blast furnace slag, the use of these products results in a number of advantages when comparing blast furnace slag constructions to constructions, which have been built with natural aggregates (gravel, sand). By using blast furnace slag products you will achieve many benefits like the speed of construction, quantity of used material and also less material to transportation. Thermal insulation and load bearing capacity is better in blast furnace products compared to natural aggregates.
Construction with blast furnace slag products will also bring benefits to the environment as these products can replace natural aggregate materials. In addition to material costs, energy and the atmosphere are saved. Similarly, the environmental load caused by fuels will be reduced. Constructions which have been built with blast furnace slag will mostly last for a longer time (lifecycle of construction) than traditional constructions.
Applications: Earthworks and road constructions, yard and field constructions, stabilization ( as s binder material), soft ground structures, sidewall substructures, pipeline driveways, drainage ditches, base floor fillers, foundation base fillings, side filling of bases.
